Dr. Brenda Edgerton Conley is an educational consultant, a curriculum developer, and a college lecturer. She has worked on several educational leadership projects with McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland and Towson University’s Center for Leadership in Education. She previously managed the Department of Labor contracts for the redesign of the teacher certification and professional development system for Job Corps. Dr. Conley also served as associate professor and founding chair of Teacher Education Programs in the Graduate School at University of Maryland University College. Prior to her university appointment, the Baltimore City Public School System employed Dr. Conley for 29 years. In addition to spending ten years as a classroom teacher, she served as the Assistant Superintendent for Professional Development, Organizational Development, and Attitudinal Reform; Director of Policy Development and Leadership Support and Director of Human Resources.
Dr. Conley earned her B.S. and M.S. at Morgan State University, and her doctorate in education at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She is the author of several publications to include Alternative Schools: A Reference Handbook published by ABC-CLIO Publishing Company in Santa Barbara, CA.
